Marcus Bouchillon
Principal

Mr. Bouchillon has been the Principal at York Township Elementary School since 2016, and is proud to work with the professional staff who serve the community and families who attend York Township.  He believes strongly in educating the whole child - academically, emotionally, and socially - especially in the formative years of elementary education.

Before arriving at York Township, Mr. Bouchillon taught Mathematics, Social Studies, and English Language Arts at Linglestown and Central Dauphin Middle Schools in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  In 2013, he became an Assistant Principal for the Susquenita School District in Duncannon, Pennsylvania, working at both the Elementary and Middle School levels.  He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in K-6 Elementary Education at Penn State University before earning his Master’s Degree in Educational Instructional Media and Technology from Wilkes University and Pennsylvania School Administration Certification from Cabrini College.  Mr. Bouchillon is married with two children, two dogs, and a cat.  His family enjoys being outdoors, sports and exercise, reading, playing games, and all things Disney.

Marie Curie once stated “You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end, each of us must work for his own improvement and, at the same time, share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful.”  This mindset simply yet eloquently parallels the deepest foundations of public education.  Intending to build a better, stronger civilization for tomorrow by investing in those whom will inherit it - educators have a fundamental responsibility to do whatever they can to improve the individuals coming through the doors each day.

With that in mind, frequent, respectful, and honest communication between home and school is a crucial component of creating a successful educational experience for each child.  Mr. Bouchillon is always interested in speaking with families regarding any questions, concerns, or feedback you may have about your child’s education.  Please feel welcome to contact him via email at [email protected] or phone at 717-741-2281.
