Classroom Guardian Wildcats Every classroom in grades 1-3 have two student "Guardian Wildcats" whose job is to help the new students feel welcome to our school. The program consists of pairing up new students with a classroom representative for one week upon their entry into school. They will help the new students not only in the classroom but sit with them at lunch, play with them at recess, and introduce them to other students.

Classroom Guidance Lessons Lessons occurs in your child's classroom once a marking period in grades 1-3 and two times per marking period for kindergarten - please see tab on main page for details.

Connect with a Kid Mentor/Mentee Program The Connect with a Kid Mentor/Mentee Program matches a student with a YT faculty or staff member. The goal of the program is to foster positive relationships with our students while enhancing self-esteem. These connections can help students develop into the best person and students that they can be! The faculty and staff members participating in the program volunteer their time to connect with the students at least once a week in a variety of ways. The program begins in November and concludes with the end of school.

Kids Group Kids Group is a small support group (4 - 6 students) that helps students learn coping skills to deal with the perceived stressors in life that may be having an adverse effect on their lives and affecting them during the school day. While the group is not "theraputic", the small group dynamics allows students to learn new skills, to recognize that they are not alone and that other children share similar feelings and experiences. Groups run for 8-10 sessions, meeting once a week for 45 minutes. Topics are specific to the needs of the group. Parent permission is required for this program (see below). Should you wish to have your child participate in a group, please contact your child's classroom teacher or myself to determine if your child qualifies for a group.
